Too sad that we’ve lost yet another musical legend. Along with the sadness is the shame that anyone at anytime even thought “Disco sucks” when it was represented by genius like this. The percolating Moroder synth lines, the cascading vocal lines that completely turn the idea of verse melody on its head, and those knee-bucklingly gorgeous harmonies in the chorus: an absolute revelation of sound, even now. It was meant for dance floors, but it’s overwhelming on headphones.
RIP Donna Summer.
